Is Diabetes Treatment Wrong?

Is Faulty Diabetes Treatment the Reason Many People Think it’s Incurable?

There’s a reason why diabetes is considered incurable by many doctors and health professionals.

It’s not because of genes or blood sugar levels, hormones or irreverable damage as you might expect them to say.

It’s an issue of the diabetes treatment information that is available to the public and who it’s being distributed by.

Recently, I met with a woman who runs a meal preperation business. We were talking about local events that we could put on as co-sponsors. The talk turned to diabetes and the increasing percentages of Type-2 Diabetes.

She had gone to her medical doctor and he had suggested a dietary plan for her (since diabetes runs in the family) so she would never have to worry about taking insulin or having any pre-diabetic issues.

I actually applaud him for being proactive! (Remember, most doctors aren’t evil, money grabbing monsters as some people seem to think.)

Anyway, I asked her if I could look at the meal plan and see what was recommended.

What I saw was shocking. Let me show you…

Diabetes Treatment Exhibit A

The front page is pretty non-offensive at first glance. A nice man giving a thumbs up (most likely not the picture of the usual diabetic). And a healthy looking meal… which honestly is the healthiest thing on the manual. (But not included in the “plan”!)

Diabetes Treatment Exhibit B

Open up the page and this is where it gets a little hairy. Bagels, animal crackers, buiscuts, hot dog buns, potatoes and kaiser rolls for diabetics? You have to be kidding me. Only one mention of whole grains. Yikes.

Diabetes Treatment Exhibit C

Let’s add to the toxic load with transfat-filled margerines, fake sugars and artifical creamers!

Diabetes Treatment Exhibit D

It’s likely I don’t need to say much here. I’m shocked. If this is “effective diabetes treatment”, I’m moving to Siberia. How is it possible that fast food could be a healthy part of a diabetic diet?
